About DeWalt
DeWalt Inc. is an American manufacturer of power tools, hand tools for the construction and other accessories. The company is a worldwide supplier of their products, specializing in the construction, manufacturing, and woodworking industry. Until today, DeWalt is a registered trademark of Black and Decker Inc., a subsidiary of Stanley Black and Decker.
The History of DeWalt
The DeWalt company was founded in 1924 by Raymond DeWalt, former employee of Seabrook Farms. Since the beginning, Raymond aimed to improve the productivity and versatility of the machines he used. Among others, he invented the radial arm saw and in 1922, he perfected the first woodworking machine – that´s where the journey of his future, extremely successful company had begun. The founder of the company was therefore a patented inventor before he had started the business.
Later, in 1924, DeWalt Products Co. company was formed, and the first plant and offices were established in Leola, Pennsylvania. The first product DeWalt manufactured was a universal electric woodworking machine, also known as the “Wonder-Worker”. It could be configured in 9 different modes. In 1929, DeWalt moved its base into Lancaster and later, in 1947, they changed their name from DeWalt Products Co. to DeWalt Inc. Since 1941, they had experienced a long period of expansion, mostly due to the rising demands of government orders connected with the wartime machinery requirements. Later, in 1949, DeWalt was bought by American Machine and Foundry Co., which later sold the trademark to Black and Decker in 1960. In 1953 they expanded into Canada and in 1971, they introduced the first metal cutting machine, which changed the whole power tool world. DeWalt once again revolutionized the industry.
In 1992, the first DeWalt portable electric power tools line was introduced and in 1994, they came up with over 30 new cordless tools. By 2001, DeWalt produces more than 200 electric power tools and more than 800 accessories. They kept on developing and improving their products. In December 2013, DeWalt issued a press release stating it would be bringing some assembly of a small selection of their products to the United States using globally manufactured parts from Brazil, China, the Czech Republic, Italy, Mexico, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The products assembled in the United States would be branded under the label, "Built in the USA with global materials."
One of the latest upgrades on their services was the release of the first phase of “Connected” Products in 2015, which lets the users connect to the tools with their mobile phones via Connect Bluetooth Tool. Until 2015, DeWalt also has seven manufacturing facilities building DeWalt products in the US - New Britain, CT, Hampstead, MD, Shelbyville, KY, Greenfield, IN, Cheraw, SC, Charlotte, NC, and Jackson, TN.
Since 1924, DeWalt continues to design and optimize professional workhorse solutions- tools, accessories, and service - to ensure absolute confidence for the toughest jobsite conditions.

A manufacturer of power tools, accessories, hardware, home improvement products, and home appliances, Black and Decker is based in Towson, Maryland. The company was established in 1910 and in 2010 merged with Stanley Works, becoming Stanley Black and Decker. Black and Decker bought DeWalt from American Machine and Foundry in 1960. DeWalt remains a trademark of Black and Decker until today.
Nascar Sponsorship
From 1999 to 2009, DeWalt Company had been sponsoring Nascar driver Matt Kenseth. This time, they sponsored Marcos Ambrose, driving Richard Petty Motorsports Ford Fusion. Their second sponsorship ended in 2014, when DeWalt returned to sponsoring Kenseth, and after he retired in 2017, they started sponsoring Erik Jones who replaced Kenseth.

Brushless motors deliver up to 57% more runtime versus standard brushed motors. Their brushless motors run cooler that the brushed units. The tools maximize efficiency by eliminating trips to the pump, fuel mixing, constant pull starts, and gas related maintenance. DEWALT® brushless motors run cooler compared to DEWALT brushed units. Also, the DeWalt tools are designed with features that provide a high level of Control, Dust Containment, or Low Vibration. Lessen worker discomfort without sacrificing performance.
